How to Install Floodcheck
Floodcheck is a internal flooding prevention device that
turns off the main water supply if it detects a leak.
Floodcheck is easy to install, monitors water usage - both
the continuous and excess flow of your water supply. It also senses
freezing temperatures to protect homes and businesses from water
damage caused by frozen and burst pipes.
Installing Floodcheck couldn't be easier. Our step by step guide below will show you how.
in order to more easily use Floodcheck, we offer the
Floodcheck remote switch which lets you control Floodcheck and the
water supply from anywhere on the property. The remote switch comes
with flush fitting and a "plug and play" option for an even quicker
installation. See below for more details.
Floodcheck auto valve installation guide:
Step 1 - Check and confirm the size of
your pipes...1/2 and 3/4-inch are most common.
Floodcheck auto valve comes with fittings for both
sizes.
Step 2 - Open a cold water tap in your
kitchen sink to ensure the water is on.
Step 3 - Locate and turn off your main
valve.
Step 4 - Make sure the water supply has
been turned off. Allow time for the pipes to drain.
Step 5 - Check the direction of flow on the
valve, and that you have enough space to fit Floocheck after the
valve. You need a minimum 8 inches for 1/2 inch and 9 inches for
3/4 inch pipes.
Step 6 - Place two markers on your existing
pipe, the first 2 inches (50 mm) from the valve and the second 8
inches (200 mm) from your valve. Remember, it has to be in the
direction of flow. Remove the 6-inch (150 mm) piece of pipe. Use a
pipe cutter, not a hacksaw.
Step 7 - Slacken off the nut on the dead
side of the valve, some water will drain out. Remove the pre-cut
pipe.
Step 8 - Fit the ring magnet over the
pipe.
Step 9 - Push the pipe connectors onto the
pipe, then fit the washer.
Step 10 - Screw the valve on the end of the
connector. Take care not to cross thread!
Step 11 - Screw the other connector on the
other end of the valve.
Step 12 - Push the cut pipe into the
connector. Check all nuts are tight, turn the water back on
partially and check for leaks. If all is OK, turn power supply on
as required.

Easy to install with flush fitting, the Remote Switch also comes with plug and play cables for an even quicker installation.
Buy a Remote Switch on our Shop Online
page.
The Remote Switch lets you control Floodcheck from anywhere on the property. It can be fitted on the inside of a kitchen door or under counters for example. If Floodcheck detects a problem and turns the water off, you can restore the water supply by simply pushing the "RESET" button on the remote switch.
The Remote Switch can be installed any distance from the
valve by the hard wired method (not plug and go) with light-weight
four-core cable, available at your local hardware store.
The Remote Switch has a bypass function that allows you to use the water for 1 hour, in case you need to water the lawn, for example.
There is a vacate button that turns off your water while you are away from the property, just press the "RESET" button when you return and the water supply comes back on.
The Remote Switch also has a built in leak detector alarm which means any number of our wet pads can be connected to the Floodcheck kit. If the wet pads detect water it will make a loud beep and turn off the water supply.
Floodcheck Wet Pads
Wet pads provide leak detection and can be installed anywhere on the property. The wet pads detect water through a sensor, once water is detected the sensor sends a signal to the Remote Switch, this will then sound an alarm and shut off the water supply.

The wet pads are the size of a credit card. They have 4 stainless steel sensors; and can be attached to walls or skirting boards by a metal strip.
